Hosting quality has a direct and measurable impact on your website’s performance, security and search rankings. Shared hosting stacks that serve hundreds of sites per server, outdated PHP versions and absent security configurations are common in the Greek hosting market — and they cost you in Core Web Vitals scores, uptime and vulnerability exposure. Hellenic Technologies provides managed hosting for WordPress sites on infrastructure configured specifically for WordPress performance: PHP-FPM, object caching with Redis, Nginx or LiteSpeed web servers, automatic SSL via Let’s Encrypt, and CDN integration for static assets. Every hosting client gets a staging environment as standard — so changes are tested before they go live.

Hosting Infrastructure

  • Server technology — PHP-FPM with OPcache, Nginx or LiteSpeed, Redis for object caching; configured for WordPress performance, not generic PHP hosting
  • Locations — Primary datacenter options in Frankfurt (EU) and Amsterdam for low latency to Greek and European audiences; Athens-region hosting available for clients with local latency requirements
  • SSL — Automatic Let’s Encrypt SSL for all domains and subdomains; certificate renewal handled automatically; HTTP to HTTPS redirects enforced
  • CDN — Cloudflare or Bunny CDN integration for static assets (images, CSS, JS); reduces server load and improves response times for international visitors
  • Staging environments — Every hosting account includes a staging subdomain for testing updates, plugin changes and design modifications before deploying to production

Uptime and Reliability

Hosting plans include uptime monitoring with 5-minute check intervals and alerting to our operations team. We target 99.9% uptime across our managed hosting stack. Planned maintenance windows are communicated in advance; emergency maintenance is handled with minimal downtime and post-incident reporting.

Backups

Daily automated backups are included with all managed hosting plans. Backups cover both files and database, are stored off-site, and are retained for 30 days. Point-in-time restoration is available for clients who need to roll back to a specific date after a bad deployment or content error.
