Payment Gateway Integrations

Getting payments right is non-negotiable. A checkout that fails, a gateway that doesn’t inspire trust, or missing local payment methods all cost sales. Hellenic Technologies has integrated payment gateways into dozens of live eCommerce stores — we know the requirements, the edge cases and the compliance obligations. For Greek eCommerce stores, the payment mix typically includes Stripe for card payments (European-issued cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay), Viva Wallet as the dominant Greek payment processor, and PayPal for buyers who prefer wallet-based checkout. We configure all of these to PCI-compliant standards, with proper webhook handling for payment confirmations, refunds and disputes.

Payment Gateways We Integrate

  • Stripe — Card payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, Klarna and Stripe Checkout; strong 3D Secure 2 (SCA) support for European compliance
  • Viva Wallet — Greece’s leading payment platform; native checkout, instalment payments (up to 24 months for Greek cards), and Viva Smart Checkout integration
  • PayPal — Standard PayPal checkout and PayPal Pay Later; suitable for stores with international buyer traffic
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay — Express checkout integrations via Stripe or direct API; significantly reduces mobile checkout friction
  • Greek bank gateways — Piraeus Bank, Alpha Bank, Eurobank and National Bank of Greece payment gateway integrations for businesses with existing banking relationships
  • Cash on delivery — Still common in Greek eCommerce; proper handling of COD orders including fulfilment workflow

3D Secure and PSD2 Compliance

All payment integrations we build comply with PSD2 Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements for European transactions. This means proper 3DS2 flows for card payments, fallback handling for declined authentication, and webhook-based order confirmation rather than relying on redirect parameters.

Instalment Payments

Instalment (δόσεις) support is a significant conversion factor for higher-value Greek eCommerce orders. We integrate Viva Wallet’s instalment payment options and configure the checkout to surface available instalment counts based on the order total and card type.
